Lower Blood Sugar Levels in the Sea This

For diabetics, there is the sea that 'must' visit. If to lower your blood sugar levels usually consume a particular drug, it turns out to float in the Dead Sea, can be lowered significantly.

As reported by the NY Daily News, you can lower the blood sugar levels simply by floating for 20 minutes. This is the result of the research team's Ben Gurion University and Soroka Medical Centre in Beersheva, Israel.

The research team conducted experiments on 14 with type 2 diabetes, aged 18 to 65 years. The result, in blood glucose levels fell an average of 163 to 151 milligrams per deciliter (mg / dl) or about 13.5 percent. This decrease also does not take long, after they float.

In fact, reducing blood sugar levels continue to 141.3 mg / dl after an hour of floating in the water. According to researchers this does not seem to have negative effects on other conditions, such as levels of insulin, the hormone cortisone or c-peptide.

Professor Sukenik Saul, chief researcher, describes the results of the research as a 'promising'. "These findings will be confirmed in further studies. Decrease in blood glucose levels in diabetics that float in the Dead Sea could make them use less medication," he said.

The research team is currently conducting research with in-depth look at the effects of swimming every day at the Dead Sea in a period of three weeks. The findings were published in the Israel Medical Association Journal, HaRefua, issue of September 2011.
